Northwest 81, Northeastern State 74

Northwest Missouri State snapped a 10-game skid Thursday night with an 81-74 victory over Northeastern State.

The game featured 13 ties and 11 lead changes in a see-saw battle from Tahlequah, OK.

The Bearcats (5-20, 3-13 MIAA) pushed in front for good at the four minute mark in the second half when Jack Ratigan hit a layup off of an assist from Emorie Knox. That was part of a 12-2 run that allowed Northwest to capture its 17th straight win over Northeastern State.

Ratigan, 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Byron Alexander, 15 points and 10 rebounds, eached finished with a double-double. It marks the first time two Bearcats had double-doubles in the same game since the 2021 national championship.

Ja'Vion Byers and Luke Moustakas finished with 14 points apiece.

Northwest meets Arkansas Fort Smith Saturday at 3pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 2:30pm.
