This week's Bearcat Coaches Show highlights a return home for soccer, volleyball focused on a rival, the postseason for cross country, a bye week for football, and women's basketball getting game action.

Northwest Missouri State football came up short in a Homecoming matchup with Central Missouri. Bearcat wide receiver and Don Black Award winner Jake Weber discussed the bye week and his background coming to Northwest.

The volleyball season slowed down a bit this week with only one match on the schedule. Northwest meets Missouri Western for the second time this season after wiping out Newman and Pittsburg State last week. Head coach Amy Woerth and junior Kasidy Mohwinkle talked about the strides the team continues to make throughout the season.

The three-week wait for the MIAA Championships is finally over for cross country. Northwest coach Wick Cunningham, senior Grant Bradley, and the team will travel to St. Joseph with the first postseason meet on the horizon. Cunningham and Bradley highlighted the team's focus and nutrition entering the pivotal race.

Northwest soccer will take a month-long unbeaten streak into Friday's home match with Missouri Southern. The Bearcats are outscoring opponents 12-6 across that stretch. Head coach Marc Gordon, sophomore Ximena Arnau and freshman Julia Coacher joined the program to talk about the challenges waiting this weekend against Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State.

Northwest women's basketball will get its first game action Monday at 7pm in an exhibition against Livin' the Dream. The Bearcats are coming off a 23-8 campaign and were picked third in the MIAA preseason polls. Head coach Austin Meyer discussed the work his team has put in through the off-season and the mix of veteran players and newcomers suiting up.
