The Northwest Missouri State athletic department rolls into the university's Family Weekend with a full head of steam.

Bearcat football returns home after back-to-back wins. A matchup with No. 11 Emporia State is set for Saturday afternoon. Wide receiver John Giagiarri joins the show to discuss the momentum the team has built.

Northwest volleyball has reeled in four straight victories, and six wins in their last seven matches overall. Head coach Amy Woerth and senior Kyah Luhring talk about the wins over the weekend in Iowa, opening MIAA play, and Luhring with the opportunity to reach a milestone in Friday's home opener.

Bearcat soccer opens MIAA matches Wednesday at St. Joseph, then returns home Sunday to face Northeastern State. Northwest hasn't allowed a goal in the last 252 minutes of game action. Head coach Marc Gordon, graduate assistant Riley Pfannenstiel, and sophomores MaKenna West and Chloe Collins sit down with John Coffey on this week's program.

Northwest cross country has a week off after dominating the Roy Griak Invitational in Minnesota over the weekend. The men's team won the meet, while the women finished fourth in a 24-team field. Coach Wick Cunningham and juniors Drew Atkins and Lydia McGlocklin discussed their finishes and expectations for the next meet in St. Joseph.

The Northwest men's tennis team will be in Topeka, KS this weekend for the ITA Regional Tournament. Head coach Mark Rosewell and junior Antonin Leborne look ahead to the final tournament of September.

Family Weekend also marks the return of the annual Northwest Athletic Trainers 5K Saturday at 7am. The registration and the starting line will be in front of Lamkin Activity Center on Fourth Street in Maryville. Head athletic trainer Christy Tapps joined the show highlighting the event that's open to community members, alumni, students and all members of the Bearcat Family. To register, click here.
